HashDocket provides a cryptographic fingerprint registry. By using it, you agree to these terms.

What the service proves

A successful record shows that a particular SHA-256 fingerprint was stored by HashDocket at the displayed service timestamp after the referenced Bitcoin payment was confirmed. It does not by itself prove authorship, ownership, the authenticity of the underlying file, or its original creation date.

Not a qualified timestamp

HashDocket is not a qualified electronic timestamp service, not a trust service provider, not a notary, and not legal advice. Users who require a legally qualified timestamp should use an appropriate regulated provider.

Payments

Registration fees are denominated in satoshis. Bitcoin transactions are generally irreversible. Sending funds to a wrong address, using an insufficient amount, or paying network fees is the user's responsibility. A qualifying pack transaction can be reused until all purchased HashDocket proof credits are consumed.

Availability

The service is provided on an as-available basis. We may change pricing and features prospectively, but existing registry entries are intended to remain verifiable while the service operates.

Acceptable use

Do not use HashDocket to facilitate fraud, unlawful activity, infringement, or to publish personal information about others in the optional public label.
