Can I timestamp a file without uploading it?
Yes. SHA-256 is calculated locally in your browser, so the original file does not need to be uploaded.
Is the OpenTimestamps receipt free?
Yes. The .ots receipt is free. Publishing a searchable HashDocket registry record is optional and paid in Bitcoin.
Does the Bitcoin payment contain my document hash?
No. The payment pays for the optional registry record; the payment transaction itself does not embed the document hash.
