Research reproducibility
Create a file fingerprint before preregistration, peer review, data release or manuscript submission. The hash gives collaborators a precise way to prove that two files are identical.
Create a proofUseful for
Study protocols, statistical analysis plans, raw-data snapshots, code releases, figures, preprints and final manuscript versions.
Boundary
A hash does not prove that data are true or that a study was performed correctly. It records identity of a digital object; provenance claims still need normal scientific documentation.
Privacy model
The main workflow calculates SHA-256 in your browser. HashDocket does not need the source document. Only the fingerprint, optional public label and public proof metadata are used for the registry.
